🌍 A Prophetic Conversation for the Times
In a powerful livestream broadcast, Mother & Refuge of the End Times welcomed Catholic author and evangelist Mark Mallett to discuss a profoundly urgent topic: Is there a global Antichrist? And how does this relate to the two prophetic phases of Medjugorje as described by the renowned Fr. Livio Fanzaga, founder of Radio Maria?

🔍 Two Phases of Medjugorje: Preparation & Secrets
Fr. Livio, a longtime defender of the Medjugorje apparitions and spiritual director to some of the seers, recently outlined a two-phase structure to the Medjugorje revelations:
Phase One: The Time of Preparation (1981 – Death of Pope Francis)
This era was led by St. John Paul II, a Marian pope who battled communism and prepared the Church for deeper spiritual conflict. Fr. Livio identifies him as the protagonist of this first phase, who fulfilled part of the Fatima warnings through his role in the collapse of communism.Phase Two: The Time of the Secrets (Now)
Ushered in by Pope Francis’ recognition of Medjugorje, this phase begins with Pope Leo XIV, whom Fr. Livio believes may be the “Marian Pope” destined to confront the global Antichrist and lead the Church during the unfolding of the ten Medjugorje secrets.
👑 Pope Leo XIV and the Fulfillment of Fatima?
Fr. Livio speculates that Pope Leo XIV could be the martyred pope foretold in the Third Secret of Fatima, the one who walks “with halting step” toward martyrdom at the foot of a great cross. He praises the new pontiff’s humility, sacrificial spirit, and his belief that the pope must “disappear so that Christ may emerge.”
Mark Mallett affirms this spirit but urges caution:
“Let us not fall into papolatry. Even the greatest pope is but a servant—our eyes must remain fixed on Jesus Christ, the Admiral of the ship.”
🕯️ What Is the “Global Antichrist”?
The panel explored whether the Antichrist is a man, a system, or both. Jocelyn noted that Fr. Livio refers to the “global Antichrist” not necessarily as a single person, but as a spirit of rebellion, rooted in atheism, secularism, and the culture of death.
Mark Mallett added important theological clarity from Church tradition:
“The Church Fathers, especially St. John Henry Newman, make it clear: The Antichrist is a man—the ‘lawless one,’ the ‘son of perdition.’ Yet he will emerge from a global system, a beast-like kingdom rooted in anti-Christian ideology.”
⚔️ From Communism to a Culture of Death
Fr. Livio draws a direct line from the errors of Russia, as warned by Our Lady at Fatima, to today’s atheistic materialism in the West. These errors, while no longer under the name of communism, still pervade:
Abortion
Euthanasia
Gender ideology
Rejection of divine authority
“The Antichrist spirit today is man putting himself in the place of God,” said Jocelyn, echoing Fr. Livio.
✝️ Mark Mallett: A Personal Prophetic Experience
Mark shared a profound two-week period during the COVID lockdowns in which he experienced what he believes were prophetic inspirations, confirmed supernaturally:
“I trembled… Every time the Lord spoke to my heart, within seconds, someone would message me confirming the same idea.”
He felt strongly that Pope Francis was linked to the Fatima vision of the “bishop in white,” walking with halting step. But this bishop could represent many popes, he said—John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Francis, and now Leo XIV.
🕊️ Medjugorje: Continuation of Fatima
Mallett recalls that St. John Paul II himself described Medjugorje as a “continuation of Fatima.” The Vatican’s Neolobstat under Pope Francis has granted Medjugorje’s messages freedom from doctrinal error, even if the full apparitions remain under study.
“You will know them by their fruits,” said Mark. “Thousands of vocations, conversions, and apostolates like Radio Maria have been born from Medjugorje.”
