This friend of Padre Pio saw Purgatory and met Mary!

🌹 From Death to Mission: Brother Daniele Natale’s Journey Through Purgatory With Padre Pio and Our Lady 🌹

✝️ A Capuchin of Extraordinary Grace

Brother Daniele Natale, a humble Capuchin friar, lived through war, suffering, and an extraordinary mission entrusted by Heaven. During World War II, he dedicated himself to helping the wounded and the needy. God granted him remarkable spiritual gifts—bilocation, deliverance from evil spirits, and the ability to read hearts.

But it was his mystical journey through death and Purgatory—and his miraculous return—that became the cornerstone of his mission to souls.

🙏 Padre Pio’s Spiritual Son

From the age of five, Brother Daniele knew St. Padre Pio. Later, the stigmatist became his spiritual director, guiding him like a true father. “They were like twins, both in soul and body,” wrote author Matteo Bevilacqua.

When Brother Daniele was diagnosed with spleen cancer in 1952, Padre Pio reassured him with words that echoed Heaven’s strength:
“Don’t be afraid. I will be with you all the time.”

Despite the doctors’ doubts, an operation was attempted. Afterward, Brother Daniele slipped into a coma and was declared dead.

🔥 Three Hours in Purgatory

What followed was a profound mystery of mercy.

Brother Daniele later recounted:

  • He stood before God—not as a harsh Judge, but as a loving Father.

  • He was sentenced to three hours in Purgatory, where the greatest torment was the pain of separation from God.

  • The senses that had most offended God—his eyes and tongue—suffered the deepest purification.

“The fire was intense,” he explained, “but the worst pain was knowing I had every grace for salvation and did not use it as I should.”

🌹 Our Lady and Padre Pio Intercede

In the midst of his torment, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to him. With tears and faith, Brother Daniele begged her to intercede. At that moment, Padre Pio appeared beside her, asking Our Lady to obtain mercy for his spiritual son.

Through Mary’s intercession and Padre Pio’s plea, Brother Daniele was pardoned—and returned to life after three hours. His mission was clear: to awaken souls and lead them back to God’s love.

✝️ A Mission of Blessing – Father Dolindo Ruotolo

Among his tasks was delivering a final blessing from Padre Pio to Servant of God Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo of Naples. Racing against time, Brother Daniele reached him as he lay weak and suffering.

On a simple folding bed, Fr. Dolindo received the blessing through Brother Daniele’s hands—just before departing to the Father’s house. A mystical connection between three powerful souls of Italy was sealed that day: Padre Pio, Brother Daniele, and Father Dolindo.

🌹 Mary’s Lesson on the Rosary

Despite his love for Our Lady, Brother Daniele often struggled with the Rosary. The thought of fifty Hail Marys overwhelmed him.

But in a dream, the Blessed Virgin appeared and said:
“Say the Rosary, son.”
He wept: “I can’t, Mother!”
She consoled him: “I will help you. We will pray it together. Ask me in prayer for whatever you want, and I will grant it.”

From then on, his devotion to the Rosary deepened, making it his lifeline of grace.

🌟 The Message for Us

Brother Daniele’s story reminds us of three eternal truths:

  • Purgatory is real—but God’s mercy is greater.

  • Mary never abandons her children who call upon her.

  • The Rosary is a powerful chain that binds us to Heaven.

Through the intercession of St. Padre Pio and Our Lady, Brother Daniele was restored to life, not for himself, but to bring countless souls back to God.

“Don’t be afraid. I will be with you all the time.” – St. Padre Pio to Brother Daniele

🙏 Prayer to Our Lady and St. Padre Pio

O Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of Mercy and Refuge of Sinners,
pray for us who struggle on this earthly journey.
Teach us to love the Rosary,
and lead us closer to the Heart of your Son.

St. Padre Pio, faithful servant of Christ,
you who interceded for Brother Daniele in his hour of trial,
intercede for us now.
Strengthen our faith,
obtain for us the grace of conversion,
and keep us always close to God.

Brother Daniele Natale, humble Capuchin and friend of souls,
pray for us,
that we too may live in holiness
and one day share in the eternal joy of Heaven.

✝️ Amen.
