In our culture with so many things being sex-forward and sex-centered, it is easily to lose sight of the holiness of sex.  When we reflect on the fact that the sexual act produces life, we begin to understand why sex is so sacred.  No human being has the power to create.  God alone creates – and it is through the sexual act that human beings take part in the act of creation with God.  This is what should make us stand back and realize the greatness of the sexual act.   If we watch tv and follow the internet we get led down a completely different idea about sex.  So much about the images we see, and the shows we watch attempt to teach us that sexual freedom and self gratification is what sex is all about.  Love who you want, when you want.  Love yourself, feel good, free sex, no consequences.   Responsible sex in our culture means safe sex (don’t give anyone diseases) and consent.  Gender is irrelevant, pornography is encouraged, and anything goes as long as no one gets hurt After experiencing a painful divorce my Christian therapist recommended that I explore my sexual freedom.  I realize now how backwards that advice was.  She recommended pornography, masturbation, and multiple partners as a way to get to know my sexual self better.  And once you go down that road it’s really difficult to see why it is wrong because most single people out there are doing the same thing.  Try to tell your date from Match.com that you don’t believe in sex before marriage and they’ll swipe left in a hurry.  Our Lady of Fatima stands out in such contradiction to what is the wisdom of the world.   The entire notion of purity stands in direct opposition to what we are exposed to day to day on the Internet, on the radio, in movies, magazines, you name it.  In some ways I feel like we are being bombarded constantly with images that run completely contrary to how we are suppose to view sexuality.   The world will say that purity is prudish.  And here is where we really need to pray for the grace to understand sexuality the way that God sees it and the way we are meant to see our sexual selves.  I think at first Our Lady may seem like someone that is unrelatable and the call to purity appears too much.  Yet Scripture tells us only the Pure of Heart will look upon God.  For now, we will consider a few scripture passages on purity.  Keep in mind that God’s laws about sexuality are not just random rules.  When we come to understand more clearly the purpose of sex and the sacredness of the sexual act within marriage, then we will see the reasons for the need for chastity and purity.   And when we further understand what we are called to in eternity, we will see why purity is essential if we are to see God face to face.   Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity , lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.  Colossians 3:5 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.  Hebrews 13:4Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Psalms 51:10 Subscribe for our FREE Newsletter Submit You have been successfully Subscribed! PLACE yourself in God’s Presence. 2. Humble yourself, and ask His Aid. 3. Picture to yourself a dark city, reeking with the flames of sulphur and brimstone, inhabited by citizens who cannot get forth. Considerations 1. Even so the lost are plunged in their infernal abyss; suffering indescribable torture in every sense and every member; and that because having used their members and senses for sin, it is just that through them they should suffer now. Those eyes which delighted in impure vicious sights, now behold devils; the ears which took pleasure in unholy words, now are deafened with yells of despair; and so on with the other senses. 2. Beyond all these sufferings, there is one greater still, the privation and pain of loss of God’s Glory, which is for ever denied to their vision. If Absalom cared not to be released from exile, if he might not see his father’s face, how much sorer will it be to be deprived for ever of the blessed vision of God? 3. Consider how insupportable the pains of Hell will be by reason of their eternal duration. If the irritating bite of an insect, or the restlessness of fever, makes an ordinary night seem so long and tedious, how terrible will the endless night of eternity be, where nought will be found save despair, blasphemy and fury! Affections and Resolutions 1. Read the Prophet’s descriptions of the terrors of the Lord, and ask your soul whether it can face them, whether you can bear to lose your God for ever? 2. Confess that you have repeatedly deserved to do so. Resolve henceforth to act differently, and to rescue yourself from this abyss. Resolve on distinct definite acts by which you may avoid sin, and thereby eternal death. Give thanks, offer yourself, pray. PLACE yourself in the Presence of God. 2. Intreat Him to inspire you. Considerations 1. When the time comes which God has appointed for the end of this world, and after many terrible signs and warnings, which will overwhelm men with fear, the whole earth will be destroyed, and nothing then left. 2. Afterwards, all men, save those already risen, shall rise from the dead, and at the voice of the Archangel appear in the valley of Jehoshaphat. But alas, with what divers aspects! for some will be glorious and shining, others horrible and ghastly. 3. Consider the majesty with which the Sovereign Judge will appear surrounded by all His Saints and Angels; His Cross, the Sign of Grace to the good and of terror to the evil, shining brighter than the sun. 4. This Sovereign Judge will with His awful word, instantly fulfilled, separate the evil and the good, setting the one on His Right Hand, the other on His Left, an eternal separation, for they will never meet again. 5. This separation made, the books of conscience will be opened, and all men will behold the malice of the wicked, and how they have contemned God; as also the penitence of the good, and the results of the grace they received. Nothing will be hid. O my God, what confusion to the one, what rejoicing to the other! Consider the final sentence of the wicked. Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Dwell upon these awful words. Go, He says, for ever discarding these wretched sinners, banishing them for ever from His Presence. He calls them cursed: O my soul, what a curse: a curse involving all other maledictions, all possible evil, an irrevocable curse, including all time and eternity; condemning them to everlasting fire. Think what that eternity of suffering implies. 6. Then consider the sentence of the good. Come, the Judge says, O blessed loving word with which God draws us to Himself and receives us in His Bosom. Blessed of My Father, O blessing above all blessings! inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world. O my God, and that Kingdom will know no end! Affections and Resolutions 1. Tremble, my soul, at the thought. O God, who will be my stay in that hour when the pillars of the earth are shaken? 2. Abhor your sins, which alone can cause you to be lost when that fearful day comes. Surely I will judge myself now, that I be not judged;悠 will examine my conscience, accuse, condemn, punish myself, that the Judge may not condemn me then. I will confess my faults, and follow the counsels given me. Conclusion Thank God for having given you means of safety in that terrible Day, and time for repentance. Offer Him your heart, and ask for grace to use it well. OUR FATHER, etc. Gather your bouquet. Subscribe for our FREE Newsletter Submit You have been successfully Subscribed! Ops! PLACE yourself in the Presence of God. 2. Ask His Grace. 3. Suppose yourself to be on your deathbed, in the last extremity, without the smallest hope of recovery. Considerations 1. Consider the uncertainty as to the day of your death. One day your soul will quit this body: will it be in summer or winter? in town or country? by day or by night? will it be suddenly or with warning? will it be owing to sickness or an accident? will you have time to make your last confession or not? will your confessor or spiritual father be at hand or will he not? Alas, of all these things we know absolutely nothing: all that we do know is that die we shall, and for the most part sooner than we expect. 2. Consider that then the world is at end as far as you are concerned, there will be no more of it for you, it will be altogether overthrown for you, since all pleasures, vanities, worldly joys, empty delights will be as a mere fantastic vision to you. Woe is me, for what mere trifles and unrealities I have ventured to offend my God? Then you will see that what we preferred to Him was nought. But, on the other hand, all devotion and good works will then seem so precious and so sweet: Why did I not tread that pleasant path? Then what you thought to be little sins will look like huge mountains, and your devotion will seem but a very little thing. 3. Consider the universal farewell which your soul will take of this world. It will say farewell to riches, pleasures, and idle companions; to amusements and pastimes, to friends and neighbours, to husband, wife and child, in short to all creation. And lastly it will say farewell to its own body, which it will leave pale and cold, to become repulsive in decay. 4. Consider how the survivors will hasten to put that body away, and hide it beneath the earth and then the world will scarce give you another thought, or remember you, any more than you have done to those already gone. ‘God rest his soul!’ men will say, and that is all. O death, how pitiless, how hard thou art! 5. Consider that when it quits the body the soul must go at once to the right hand or the left. To which will your soul go? what side will it take? none other, be sure, than that to which it had voluntarily drawn while yet in this world. Affections and Resolutions 1. Pray to God, and throw yourself into His Arms. O Lord, be Thou my stay in that day of anguish! May that hour be blessed and favourable to me, if all the rest of my life be full of sadness and trial. 2. Despise the world. Forasmuch as I know not the hour in which I must quit the world, I will not grow fond of it. O dear friends, beloved ones of my heart, be content that I cleave to you only with a holy friendship which may last for ever; why should I cling to you with a tie which must needs be broken? I will prepare for the hour of death and take every precaution for its peaceful arrival; I will thoroughly examine into the state of my conscience, and put in order whatever is wanting. Conclusion Thank God for inspiring you with these resolutions: offer them to His Majesty: intreat Him anew to grant you a happy death by the Merits of His Dear Son’s Death. Ask the prayers of the Blessed Virgin and the Saints. OUR FATHER, etc. Gather a bouquet of myrrh. Subscribe for our FREE Newsletter Submit You have been successfully Subscribed! Ops! Dealing With Temptations, Reflection 1: Chasing Away Temptations Against Purity

Francis Remler recommends that we do not argue with the temptation or give it any undue attention, but rather to remove ourselves from the temptation and to immediately occupy ourselves with some other thing. He tells us that we should not attempt to face the temptation head on. It is suggested that we do not try to face the temptation head on, but rather refuse it any space in our mind and go to battle with it indirectly.   We should first get in a habit of finding a short prayer that we find encouraging and helpful for fighting our temptation. Perhaps we can find a role model from a Saint who has faced similar temptations and invoke their help. Fr. Francis Remler says this prayer should be a short phrase or sentence. Afterwards we should go and do something else. Yes, instead of trying to battle it directly we should go and occupy ourselves with some other activity. We cannot fight temptations such as evil thoughts as we can “drive away a dog with a stick.” Go and talk with someone, read a book, go for a walk, go swimming, or watch a good TV show. The point is to make the effort to remove oneself from being drawn in by the thoughts that are tempting us.   While we might be tempted to feel bad about ourselves because how strong the temptation is, but we should not allow this feeling to grab hold of us and convince us to give into the temptation. Temptations to sins that we have committed in the past can have a particular stronghold over our emotion and memory. Try not to recall or give thought to sins of the past against purity. Do not give much thought to the sin against purity in terms of deciding if it was a venial or mortal sin. The less thought given to it, the more the mind is free from the temptation and occasion of sin. The fight against evil is real, and the fight against temptation is a battle. St. Michael help us be strong against the evil one who wants to defeat us.  Devotion Prayers for The Virtues Of Purity And Chastity Opening Prayer Dear Jesus, I know that every perfect gift, and especially that of chastity, depends on the power of Your providence. Without You a mere creature can do nothing. Therefore, I beg You to defend by Your grace the chastity and purity of my body and soul. And if I have ever imagined or sensed anything that could stain my chastity and purity, blot it out, Supreme Lord of my powers, that I may advance with a pure heart in Your love and service, offering myself on the most pure altar of Your divinity all the days of my life. Amen. 1. Dear Jesus, bless our social and cultural climate. Grant that our society may be purified of everything contrary to chastity, and that we may have the strength to resist the pressures of prevailing distortions of human sexuality. “In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33). “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Rom 8:37). Hail Mary… 2. Dear Jesus, bless our relationships. Grant that they will be holy, healthy, and honorable at all times. “Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart” (1 Pet 1:22). Hail Mary… 3. Dear Jesus, bless our efforts at modesty. Grant that how we dress and carry ourselves may veil what should be veiled, and give us the strength to resist evil fashions and the glamour of sin. “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Hail Mary… 4. Dear Jesus, bless our five senses. Grant that the things we see, the music and jokes we hear, our food and drink, and the encounters we have through touch may all be pure and holy. “Seek the things that are above” (Col 3:1). Hail Mary… 5. Dear Jesus, bless our sensuality. Grant that our impulses may not go after base pleasures, but will be freed by Your wisdom and inflamed for what is good. “In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood” (Heb 12:4). Hail Mary… 6. Dear Jesus, bless our imagination. Grant that we may be preserved from the fantasies and daydreams that defile us, that all impure images may vanish, and that we may be protected from all the assaults of demons. “Be renewed in the spirit of your minds” (Eph 4:23). Hail Mary… 7. Dear Jesus, bless our memory. Grant that no dark memories from our past may haunt us, but let Your light shine within us to fill us with a healing hope in You. “And every one who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure” (1 Jn 3:3). Hail Mary… 8. Dear Jesus, bless our power of estimation. Grant that we may quickly sense dangers to chastity, instinctively flee from them, and that we may never turn away from higher and more difficult goods for the sake of sinful self-indulgence. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” (Mk 8:36). Hail Mary… [Note: estimation ~ ability to make judgments] 9. Dear Jesus,…

Viral Video! Did Mother Mary Age? Reasons Why She Was Preserved From Aging & Why She Appears as a Young Lady!

Reasons Why She Was Preserved From Aging & Why She Appears as a Young Lady! The reasons why Her son preserved the Virgin Mary from old age. One of the things that stands out is that neither in the apparitions nor in art, the Virgin Mary appears with the appearance of an old woman, because we clarify that she died at the age of 72 according to tradition. Which leads us to wonder if Mary had indeed aged like all human beings, before her Assumption body and soul into Heaven. Because Mary was not an ordinary human being like you or me, her conception was immaculate and preserved from sin. And therefore the biological laws should not necessarily have been fulfilled in Her as in us. Here we will talk about the ageless aspect that Mary is portrayed, and the reasons why she did not suffer the corruption of sin, which is expressed in the aging, sickness and death that happens to all human beings. When Our Lady appears on earth as the Virgin of Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima, etc., she is always shown as a very young woman, even in some cases as an adolescent. And the Gospels present Mary to us as a girl, young and virgin, who will be the Mother of Jesus. From the stories of Saint Matthew and Saint Luke we can infer that the Virgin had had a normal physical development; she had been a baby, a girl, and now a young lady. But what happened next? Tradition affirms that Our Lady died at the age of 72, so logic leads us to suppose that she should have had wrinkles, gray hair and the ailments of age. And we must also consider that the physique and health of a person in the first century, at that age, was not like now, in which people live longer and with a better quality of life. In other words, Our Lady’s body at the end of her life should have been even more ailing than that of a person in our century. But also in art we find that the Virgin almost always looks young. So how is it possible if she died aged 72? How can it be that she has not aged and is presented in appearances and art as a young woman? Is this way of presenting it for aesthetic reasons, because it is always more attractive to show a young person than an old person? Or perhaps there are theological reasons that lead to this? Or is it simply a reflection of reality itself, that the Blessed Virgin did not age like the rest of human beings , as Casañ suggests? Joaquin Casañ in his magnificent work the Life of the Virgin Mary, where he compiles a huge amount of information, tells us about the death of Saint Joseph at the age of sixty, adding that he was thirty-three when he married the Blessed Virgin. At the death of Joseph, Mary was forty-one years old, because at fourteen she was married to Saint Joseph. And it says that at that age of 41, Mary had the same natural perfection as at thirty-three, because she neither regressed, nor grew old, nor fainted from that most perfect state. Thirty-three years is the age at which Jesus Christ died and is considered the age of perfection. And it has been considered that it is the age that our glorious bodies will have for eternity. And how could this have been? We must consider that aging, disease and death entered the world through original sin. We all have this stain, which is why we get old, sick and die. However, the Virgin was the only human being who was not included in the original sin. And if Mary did not have sin, then she did not have the physical evolution of the rest of the people, nor the aspects that are a consequence of original sin. Specifically, she could not have aged or died. This is well explained by Blessed Duns Scotus, who stated that Mary had been preserved from sin, being saved by Our Lord in a preventative way. Because there are two ways to save man: one by preventing and the other by rescuing. If Jesus is the perfect mediator, he had to be able to redeem man in a perfect way, also preventing. It is what explains why the scriptures say that She was full of grace, which should also be shown in her physical appearance, which should be that of a young woman. This happened because of Her Immaculate Conception. That it is a dogma of faith proclaimed in 1854, which maintains that the Virgin Mary was free from original sin from the first moment of her conception, through the merits of Her son Jesus Christ. Christ preserved her in an extraordinary way and granted her a sanctity that she did not achieve on her own. And she did it for the sake of her mission, a mission that only she could carry out, that is, to be the Mother of God. This was required by the holiness of Christ and the honor of God. And what about Maria’s death? Because if original sin is the cause of death, since Mary did not have it, then she should not have died. However, although she had no original sin, she wanted to imitate her Son in everything, including death. And she wanted to imitate him so much that, according to ancient accounts, the Virgin dies on a Friday, August 13, and…

PLACE yourself in the Presence of God. 2. Ask Him to inspire your heart. Considerations 1. Consider how long it is since you first began to commit sin, and how since that first beginning sin has multiplied in your heart; how every day has added to the number of your sins against God, against yourself and against your neighbour, by deed, word, thought and desire. 2. Consider your evil tendencies, and how far you have followed them. These two points will show you that your sins are more in number than the hairs of your head, or the sand on the seashore. 3. Apart from sin, consider your ingratitude towards God, which is in itself a sin enfolding all the others, and adding to their enormity: consider the gifts which God has given you, and which you have turned against the Giver; especially the inspirations you have neglected, and the promptings to good which you have frustrated. Review the many Sacraments you have received, and see where are their fruits. Where are the precious jewels wherewith your Heavenly Bridegroom decked you? with what preparation have you received them? Reflect upon the ingratitude with which, while God sought to save you, you have fled from Him and rushed upon destruction. Affections and Resolutions 1. Humble yourself in your wretchedness. O my God, how dare I come before Thine Eyes? I am but a corrupt being, a very sink of ingratitude and wickedness. Can it be that I have been so disloyal, that not one sense, not one faculty but has been sullied and stained; not one day has passed but I have sinned before Thee? Was this a fitting return for all my Creator’s gifts, for my Redeemer’s Blood? 2. Ask pardon; throw yourself at the Lord’s Feet as the prodigal son, as the Magdalene, as the woman convicted of adultery. Have mercy, Lord, on me a sinner! O Living Fountain of Mercy, have pity on me, unworthy as I am. 3. Resolve to do better. Lord, with the help of Thy Grace I will never again give myself up to sin. I have loved it too well; henceforth I would abhor it and cleave to Thee. Father of Mercy, I would live and die to Thee. 4. In order to put away past sin, accuse yourself bravely of it, let there not be one sinful act which you do not bring to light. 5. Resolve to make every effort to tear up the roots of sin from your heart, especially this and that individual sin which troubles you most. 6.
