The Lamb and the 144,000
In the spring of 2000, William Kinney read an interview of Dr. Francis Crick on Readers Digest magazine. Let us recall that in 1953, Dr. Francis Crick and Dr. James Watson are credited with discovering the double helix structure of the human DNA. At the time of the interview, the Human Genome project was well underway. When asked about how many genes they have identified so far, Dr. Crick revealed that they have found 140,000 and expect to find 4,000 more. This brings the total number of human genes to 144,000. In 2002, however, a TV special aired, saying that the Human Genome project was completed, and humans have between 80,000 to 85,000 genes, the same number of genes that apes have. This change in the number of human genes made Mr. Kinney suspicious that this was a cover up to protect the Theory of Evolution. Today, after the death of Dr. Crick in 2004, scientists have reduced the number of genes to 20,000. Nonetheless, the book promises to be interesting.
“A Beautiful Delusion,” by William Kinney has an interesting interpretation of Revelation 14:1-5, The Lamb and the 144,000. Mr. Kinney postulates that the number 144,000 refers to the individual’s original genetic code, not the number of people who will be saved. 144,000 is the number of human genes mentioned by Dr. Crick in his interview with Readers Digest. 144,000 represents the number of genes that comprise the immortal life genome. Those individuals whose genes have not been tampered with, are “virgins.” This means that those individuals whose 144,000 genes are intact, will be sealed with the Name of the Lamb and His Father. They are those who have victory over the beast.
Take note that, branding cattle has been a tradition for thousands of years. An ancient Egyptian tomb painting from 2700 B.C. is believed to be the earliest record of cattle branding. The main purpose of branding is identification of the owner of the cattle. Before the use of fences, cattle from neighboring ranches often mingled, and it was important to know which cattle belonged to which ranchers. So, for the 144,000, who have been sealed/branded with the Name of the Lamb and His Father, they belong to the Lamb. Whereas those who are not sealed, belong to the beast. The statement mentioning the faultlessness of the 144,000 before the throne of God (Rev. 14:5+) must be understood to describe their salvific position rather than their physical location in heaven.
The following is a brilliant deduction at Hugo Talks. If there are 72,000 genes in one helix, then a double helix (72,000 from the mother and 72,000 from the father) is 72 x 2 = 144,000. A triple helix is 144,000 + 72,000 = 216,000 genes. Revelation 13:16-18 mentions the number of man. If you multiply this number (600x60x6), guess what number do you get? Triple helix is being touted as a new technology to cripple viruses, as they claim to be able to program DNA, cure diseases, and change man’s behavior.
My question is this: Should we let mere mortals tamper with our God-given DNA, thus endangering our eternal salvation, or should we live in the Divine Will, accepting what our Creator gave us, offering our pains and sufferings in union with the sufferings of Our Lord to save humanity? Isn’t it better to prepare for our Final Destination: Heaven?

Oh and what would that make the triple helix? Let’s see 72000+72000+72000=216000, or lets do multiplication, start with let’s say 666. 600*60*6=216000. What nah coincidence.
