Lord, if it seem good in Thy sight, remove from me this sickness which I now feel seizing upon me, that I may employ my health to Thy glory, and praise Thy name. But if Thou art pleased it should grow on me, I willingly submit to Thy afflicting hand, for Thou art wont to chasten those whom Thou dost love, and Thou hast promised not to lay on me any more than Thou wilt enable me to bear. I know, O my God, that Thou sendest this sickness on me for my good, even to humble and to prove me; O grant that it may not fail to work that saving effect in me. O Lord, create in me a true sorrow for all my past sins, a firm faith in Thee, and sincere resolutions of amendment for the time to come. Deliver me from all fretfulness and impatience, and give me entire resignations to Thy divine will: O suffer not my sickness to take away my senses, and do Thou continually supply my thoughts with holy aspirations. Lord, bless all the means that are used for my recovery, and restore me to health, if it be Thy will, in Thy good time; but if Thou hast appointed otherwise for me, Thy blessed will be done. O wean my affections from all things of earth, and fill me with ardent desires after heaven: Lord, fit me for Thyself, and then call me, when Thou pleasest, to that joy unspeakable and full of glory; for the sake of Thine Only Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour. Do Catholics worship Mary?

Our Social Networks Facebook Youtube Telegram Twitter Centercode Telegram-plane Comment MOTHER & REFUGE OF THE END TIMES IN THE END MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH! HOME ABOUT M&R MYSTICS ON M & R Privacy Policy ARTICLES BOOKS DONATE FREE DOWNLOADS CONTACT US PRAYER REQUESTS LIVE PRAYERS HOME ABOUT M&R MYSTICS ON M & R Privacy Policy ARTICLES BOOKS DONATE FREE DOWNLOADS CONTACT US PRAYER REQUESTS LIVE PRAYERS WATCH ONLINE Do Catholics worship Mary? No, but like Jesus we love, honor and venerate His Blessed Mother. Catholics do not worship Mary. Catholics worship God and God alone. Heaven is not a “dead” place. Catholics believe people in heaven are very much alive. (Mat 19:29, 25:46, 10:17-22, Mk 10:30, Lk 10:25-30, Lk 18:18-30, Jn 3:15-16). We think Mary is totally alive, and is praying for us the way a faithful pastor would pray for his congregation, except much more so. She’s interceding for the unborn, for mothers contemplating abortion, and for many others who are experiencing sorrows in our world, and who want to grow closer to Jesus. Why do we as Catholics honor, love and venerate her so deeply? We love Mary first of all because Jesus did. As Saint Maximilian Kolbe said, “Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.” What better way to imitate Jesus than to love His mother? Catholics do not put Mary on par with God. Mary is certainly worthy of reverence, but not worship. Catholics believe that Mary is the highest of God’s creatures because of her exalted role. Yes – Mary, a woman, is considered by Catholics to be one of God’s greatest creations. The Holy Trinity chose Mary, from all eternity, to be the mother of Jesus. But of course, like any other human being, Mary had to be saved by the mercy of God. She herself said, “My spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Lk 1:47). We believe that God saved her by taking away all stain of original sin at the moment of her conception (the Immaculate Conception). The very fact that God took on flesh and became man (Jn 1:1, 14) indicates that He wished to involve human beings in His plan of salvation for mankind. Mary was a key person for this purpose, so this is why Catholics honor her so highly. Think about how sacred God must view the unborn child in the womb! God, the  Creator of the universe, chose to come dwell among us through the womb of a poor, humble young girl. If you think about it – Mary’s womb was the first Tabernacle that held and protected the Christ Child.  A mother’s womb should be the safest and most sacred place on earth. Tragically, too many people, including way too many Catholics today think otherwise. The Hail Mary is not a prayer of worship, but it is a recitation of Scripture and then an asking of her to pray for us to God; much like asking our other Christian brothers and sisters to pray for us. The rosary (Saint John Paul II’s favorite prayer), is a Christ-centered prayer. It is like holding the hand of Our Blessed Mother and walking through the gospels and she leads us gently to her Son. The Gospel of Luke 1:48 says, “Behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.” Any time the Bible uses the word “behold” it means pay attention because what is about to be said is very important. In Luke 1:42 Elizabeth calls Mary “Most blessed among women” Mary is ‘most blessed among women’ and ‘highly favored’ by God. Elizabeth also refers to Mary as the “Mother of my Lord.” How many other people in Scripture have received such designations?  None. Mary knew she was called by God to be the Mother of Jesus. If Jesus chose to be born into this world through Mary, how much more do you and I, “All generations”, need her to help us draw closer to Christ in our daily lives? What human on earth knew Jesus best? His mother. Mary’s sole purpose is to bring us closer to her Son. You honor Jesus more by loving His mother. We also love Mary so much because she was given to us as a gift. When Jesus was dying on the Cross He chose to give His mother to us. He could have given us any gift, but the Gospel of John tells us He gave us the gift of a Mom: “Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” Think about it, if Mary had any other children, it would have been scandalous in Jewish culture for Jesus to entrust Mary to a friend. Jewish tradition was for a child to care for a widowed mother, not a friend. From the cross when Jesus uttered, “Behold your mother” (Jn. 19:27), she became not only the mother of John, but of all whom Christ redeemed through the crucifixion. She is the mother of the Church – the mystical body of Jesus. Since Mary is Jesus’ mother, it must be concluded that she is also the Mother of God. (Jesus is God.) Although Mary is the Mother of God, she is not His mother in the sense that she is older than God or the source of her Son’s divinity, for she is neither. Rather, we say that she is the Mother of God in the sense that she carried in her womb a DIVINE person—Jesus Christ, God “in the flesh” (2 John 7, cf. John 1:14)—and in the sense that she contributed the genetic matter to the human form God took in Jesus Christ. Catholics believe Mary’s soul still “magnifies the Lord” for Christians of our generation who choose to relate to her.  Catholics…

ARE THERE “WANDERING SOULS” ?

Our Social Networks Facebook Youtube Telegram Twitter Centercode Telegram-plane Comment MOTHER & REFUGE OF THE END TIMES IN THE END MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH! HOME ABOUT M&R MYSTICS ON M & R Privacy Policy ARTICLES BOOKS DONATE FREE DOWNLOADS CONTACT US PRAYER REQUESTS LIVE PRAYERS HOME ABOUT M&R MYSTICS ON M & R Privacy Policy ARTICLES BOOKS DONATE FREE DOWNLOADS CONTACT US PRAYER REQUESTS LIVE PRAYERS WATCH ONLINE ARE THERE “WANDERING SOULS” ? “Wandering Souls” we mean human souls of the departed: • who do not know that they have died and therefore are wandering on earth waiting for entrance into the after-life;  • it can also mean souls with unfinished business and therefore need to remain in the abode of the living to close the pending works; or  • a human soul that is so attached to a place that it lingers there.  These three notions are all contrary to faith and the doctrine of the particular judgment. God is sovereign over the life and death of every human being.  A human soul outside the human body is a pure spirit and therefore possesses “intuitive knowledge” proper to spirits; its knowledge of reality is immediate. It knows that it is dead intuitively.  Hence, a human soul “wandering” is a contradiction of the nature of a spiritual being. Immediately after death, it enters into particular judgment and knows the just sentence of God instantaneously. There is no room for “wandering”.  Meanwhile, the argument on “unfinished business” case also does not hold water with the doctrine of particular judgment because even in the instances of so-called “accidental death” or “unprepared death”, the person is judged by God according to his life and works, of his response to the love of God. Hence, even in cases of suicide, the soul enters into judgment before God, the author, and giver of life. The argument of attachment of souls to a material place is also contrary to the nature of spiritual entities. A soul outside the body is a spirit and therefore not attracted to matter.  It is highly probable that “wandering souls” are not human souls but are evil spirits pretending to be human souls. Stories of hauntings in places – in houses, streets, cemeteries, corridors, buildings, hospitals, etc. are demons; that is why they react to exorcism prayers and the use of blessed sacramentals. The Church does admit from the testimony of the saints, that, God sometimes allows poor souls in purgatory to manifest themselves to people who can help them with suffrages and prayers. However, these are not wandering souls. The Poor Souls in Purgatory are holy, their eternal happiness is assured, although awaiting their final purification and redemption (CCC 1022). ____________________Ref.: Archdiocese of Manila Office of Exorcism (AMOE) | Philippine Association of Catholic Exorcists (PACE)Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Catholic Ministry of Spiritual Liberation and Exorcism    Subscribe for our FREE Newsletter Submit You have been successfully Subscribed! The essay is entitled “Crash Positions” it was written by a whistleblower who is writing under the pen name Capitalist Eric. It’s a reference to the posture you take when you’re on an airliner or a train and the crew is preparing the passengers for impact. Eric takes care in using a paragraph to explain a bit of his life’s journey and uses Pascal’s wager to explain to his reader that he has nothing to gain and nothing to lose by writing the terms outlined in his essay. He just knows things, and is genuinely concerned. He cares about people around him. I am currently finding myself in his shoes…   Permit me, to do the same, I invite anyone reading to pause, and consult my opening essay I called “Introductions” I made back in May on this SubStack, or check out the “about” section of this SubStack.   I am no one special. I’m just a kid who grew up in a rather special upbringing, quite different really… I was an only child, both my parents were blue collar. My mother owned a hair salon, and I spent 90% of my Saturdays with my dad. Being an only child; where ever they went, I went… It would setup an interesting life journey…   Dad ended up being a millwright. But, before lacing up steel toes, he was a butcher. He also worked his way up into management in grocery stores at a very young age. He was mentored by several different grocery store owners who were extremely smart and shrewd business minds. They taught dad a great deal about banking, business, finance, stock markets, investing and socio-economics. Dad although never going to university became extremely savvy around the business world.   Our Saturdays consisted of a routine. We’d go to the farmer’s market to get a sausage on a bun, with mustard, and … sauerkraut … Cause you know the old spooky vendor guy insisted that it would put hair on my chest. Then we’d go visit grocery store owners dad used to work for a few hours, then we’d go home and listen to the Irish Hit Parade on a Boston radio station via a side band on an old 8 foot satellite dish… But, while lost in the haze of smoke for those few hours a week on Saturday morning while the boys “talked shop” I was playing with toys, but my sub-conscious was listening. To everything.   Normal kids were out in the streets, I was listening to white haired dudes talking about how monsoons going through India were going to affect the price of rice on their store shelves in a few months.   Kids my age were obsessed with Mouse Trap. I was obsessed with Monopoly, Stock Ticker, and obscure financial board games like Investor or Decisions…   Kids my age got lost in the Ninja Turtle frenzy, I split my time between twirling nun chucks and trying to beat the next level on an crazy Japanese lunar space war game called Military Madness with one of the world’s best designed AIs in gaming history.   Fast Forward to my early adult hood. Couple my childhood with formal university level Sociology classes I picked up during a few years of Police Sciences (Criminal Justice) training; and, you end up with: me. I am not God’s gift to human economics. I’m not a genius like Micheal Burry. I’m not a money whisperer, I’m not a saint, or prophet, or mystic. But I do feel I’ve been given enough wisdom by God, to weigh-in on socio-economic information, data, and intel. To then draw out sound and rational predictions based on what I was presented.   My reasoning is one that looks out for patterns and associations. I’ve always liked to connect dots when sifting through headlines, reports, charts, and the like. I was missing out on an important intellectual ingredient most of my life, that I recently learned from a prominent Belgian theologian Arnaud Dumouche. It is inherent that you test your hypothesis and reasoning constantly against reality. If you do not, you end up chasing your tail like a dog on a merry-go-round called ideology. Thanks Arnaud!   So then, why the buildup? Why such a long lead in to the paragraphs you are about to read? Because I need you to understand, I have no agenda. I have no, as my dad puts it, “axe” to grind. I am not politically motivated. I am not financially motivated. I am not selling anything. I do not work in hedge funds or corporate firms. I have no affiliations to any institution, organization, or enterprise. I have no authority to tell you what to do, or think. I am about to draw some dots, and connect them, and I am going to let YOU, decide if we can agree that it looks like an unsteady Jenga tower.   The Ruble   In late March this year, the kremlin pegged the Russian currency to gold bullion. It’s not be confused with a banking standard. In a banking gold-standard, banks need to present gold assets 1:1 as a substitute for a note or certificate in circulation. By “pegging” it just means that the ruble is directly linked to the value of gold. In other words foreign countries and businesses can pay the Russian government in gold bullion…

It seems heaven will not allow man to destroy the earth with Nukes. Now this is just my opinion and I can be wrong but I think one of the reasons for this could be because radiation of this nature is man made and not to be found in nature. Hence, for the earth to recover and be inhabitable again, soon, for people to thrive would take a long long time. At least those parts affected.  But when God sends a natural chastisement , be it an asteroid or whatever from the sky, it’s nature and it gets absorbed into the elements down here so while it wipes out the wicked, it leaves the planet habitable for those who remain alive to carry on. Although La Salette did say that at least for 3 years people will have to struggle to live because of the devastation causes. Struggle is one thing….not being able to is another. Why Catholics Should Never Do Yoga

I had no idea how to meditate, so I went down to the Diocesan library. They had fewer materials than I thought a Diocesan library should have, but I managed to find a set of tapes (the title completely escapes me) by a Catholic priest and checked it out. Having been born into the Post-Concillar Church, my parents spent a small fortune on Catholic grade-school with a faith formation program consisting of little more than the infamous “Hi God!” programs. My mother did save her old Maryknoll Crusades magazines from her childhood, and I read those back in grade school, but proper faith formation requires much more than a couple dozen issues of an old Bible study magazine from the 1950s meant to supplement what should be thorough Catechetical training. I was utterly unprepared for what I now know is New Age, progressive thinking. I was also stupid, so I popped the tape in my stereo and went through the meditations. I had a hard time with this priest’s meditations because he kept saying to empty the mind, focus on the sound of his voice, place the self into the scene he was describing. He spent a lot of time talking about breathing and did a few breathing exercises. I really couldn’t get into the tapes. I couldn’t empty my mind. My thoughts kept churning in circles. I credit working at that bookstore with helping me to understand what meditation really is. It’s not the emptying of the mind, but the focusing of our thoughts on The Lord, on Christ, on the mysteries of our faith, on scripture, on the teachings of the Church. I gave up on the tapes, but there was this insert with the tapes that talked about the similarities between the world’s religions; how God knows our hearts and our intentions; how being open-minded to new and different ideas helps us to understand God; how Eastern philosophies use meditation techniques from which Catholics could benefit. I now recognize that this blending of philosophies with Catholicism is an error called “syncretism.” The ideas from that insert planted some serious errors in my mind and opened the door to a near decade long affair with the practice of yoga. It was around 1997 when I caught this fitness bug and was introduced to yoga through workout programs on cable fitness stations. I started with the programs that mixed yoga with dance, and thanks to my High School and College dance training, I picked it all up very quickly. There were full yoga programs as well, with the instructors talking about balance and muscle control. Every so often they’d throw in key phrases like, “find your center”, “focus your breath”, “clear the mind”, “feel your inner warmth”. Today I would clearly recognize these phrases as being in the danger zone; but to me “the center” was a dance term, and the rest, well, I knew what I believed, and in my mind this was all just exercise. I deftly rationalized that the terminology wasn’t important, and I developed my own syncretistic practice. What I was failing to grasp, as I believe do many people, is that ultimately yoga isn’t at all about health and fitness, but more on that later. For nine years I was an on again-off again yoga student. I wasn’t faithful to it for a long time by any means, but I always came back to it, because the physical results were unmatched. I could maintain my figure with a no-impact workout program that also relieved my stress, which was a real bonus when I took a new, demanding job in 2006. I decided then that it was time to get more serious about my yoga practice. I found Yoga Journal online which contained some very compelling articles about the physical benefits of yoga, along with tutorials on the poses. I felt great about my decision and bought myself two books at the beginning of 2007: Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar and Richard Hittleman’s Yoga: A 28-Day Exercise Plan. I also started looking for an instructor, but (luckily) they all overcharge. What can I say, I’m cheap. I flipped through Hittleman’s book, which was for beginners, and decided that I should save the easy book to loan out to someone that might be interested, and just dive right into Iyengar’s more challenging Asana sequences instead. I casually read the Introduction titled, “What Is Yoga?”, perused the photographs of the poses and found the section containing the sequences. It took quite a bit of study, and within 5 months I was advancing quite quickly. I couldn’t get my foot behind my head, but I was able to complete a solid 40-minute “workout”, was getting stronger and more flexible, and was even starting to pick up the Sanskrit terminology. As I progressed, though, I was still having trouble with the whole “empty your mind” thing. I tried to pray my traditional Catholic prayers, but they interfered with my ability to hold a pose. Then there was the breathing. Getting the breathing down is very important. There is this term, “pranayama,” which in its simplest definition means breath. To practice pranayama, as I understood it, you lie on the floor on your…

I am writing to you for two reasons: to answer some more questions from your last letter, and to wish you a very happy names-day in the most sweet Jesus, full of all the most special heavenly graces. Oh! If Jesus granted my prayers for you or, better still, if only my prayers were worthy of being granted by Jesus! However, I increase them a hundredfold for your consolation and salvation, begging Jesus to grant them, not for me but through the heart of his paternal goodness and infinite mercy. In order to avoid irreverence and imperfections in the house of God, in church – which the divine Master calls the house of prayer – I exhort you in the Lord to practice the following. Enter the church in silence and with great respect, considering yourself unworthy to appear before the Lord’s Majesty. Amongst other pious considerations, remember that our soul is the temple of God and, as such, we must keep it pure and spotless before God and his angels. Let us blush for having given access to the devil and his snares many times (with his enticements to the world, his pomp, his calling to the flesh) by not being able to keep our hearts pure and our bodies chaste; for having allowed our enemies to insinuate themselves into our hearts, thus desecrating the temple of God which we became through holy Baptism. Then take holy water and make the sign of the cross carefully and slowly. As soon as you are before God in the Blessed Sacrament, devoutly genuflect. Once you have found your place, kneel down and render the tribute of your presence and devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Confide all your needs to him along with those of others. Speak to him with filial abandonment, give free rein to your heart and give him complete freedom to work in you as he thinks best. When assisting at Holy Mass and the sacred functions, be very composed when standing up, kneeling down, and sitting, and carry out every religious act with the greatest devotion. Be modest in your glances; don’t turn your head here and there to see who enters and leaves. Don’t laugh, out of reverence for this holy place and also out of respect for those who are near you. Try not to speak to anybody, except when charity or strict necessity requests this. If you pray with others, say the words of the prayer distinctly, observe the pauses well and never hurry. In short, behave in such a way that all present are edified by it and, through you, are urged to glorify and love the heavenly Father. On leaving the church, you should be recollected and calm. Firstly take your leave of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament; ask his forgiveness for the shortcomings committed in his divine presence and do not leave him without asking for and having received his paternal blessing. Once you are outside the church, be as every follower of the Nazarene should be. Above all, be extremely modest in everything, as this is the virtue which, more than any other, reveals the affections of the heart. Nothing represents an object more faithfully or clearly than a mirror. In the same way, nothing more widely represents the good or bad qualities of a soul than the greater or lesser regulation of the exterior, as when one appears more or less modest. You must be modest in speech, modest in laughter, modest in your bearing, modest in walking. All this must be practiced, not out of vanity in order to display one’s self, nor out of hypocrisy in order to appear to be good to the eyes of others, but rather, for the internal virtue of modesty, which regulates the external workings of the body. Therefore, be humble of heart, circumspect in words, prudent in your resolutions. Always be sparing in your speech, assiduous in good reading, attentive in your work, modest in your conversation. Don’t be disgusting to anybody but be benevolent towards all and respectful towards your elders. May any sinister glance be far from you, may no daring word escape your lips, may you never carry out any immodest or somewhat free action; never a rather free action or a petulant tone of voice. In short let your whole exterior be a vivid image of the composure of your soul. Always keep the modesty of the divine Master before your eyes, as an example; this Master who, according to the words of the Apostle to the Corinthians, placing the modesty of Jesus Christ on an equal footing with meekness, which was his one particular virtue and almost his characteristic: “Now I Paul myself beseech you, by the mildness and modesty of Christ” [Douay-Rheims, 2 Cor. 10:1], and according to such a perfect model reform all your external operations, which should be faithful reflections revealing the affections of your interior. Never forget this divine model, Annita. Try to see a certain lovable majesty in his presence, a certain pleasant authority in his manner of speaking, a certain pleasant dignity in walking, in contemplating, speaking, conversing; a certain sweet serenity of face. Be so kind as to give us the unity, peace, and mutual love that You found in Your own family in the little town of Nazareth. Saint Joseph, bless the head of our family. Obtain for him the strength, the wisdom, and the prudence he needs to support and direct those under his care. Mother Mary, bless the mother of our family. Help her to be pure and kind, gentle and self-sacrificing. For the more she resembles you, the better will our family be. Lord Jesus, bless the children of our family. Help them to be obedient and devoted to their parents. Make them more and more like You. Let them grow, as You did, in wisdom and age and grace before God and man. Holy Family of Nazareth, make our family and home more and more like Yours, until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with You.
