“When she arrives on the scene, she looks at the poor soul with incredible love and
says, ‘it’s over.’ At that very moment, it is over.”

“She” is the Great Mother of God. “It” is a demonic possession.
Adam Blai, paritus of the Roman Catholic Church in Religious Demonology and
Exorcism to the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, has witnessed and assisted
at many solemn exorcisms over the years. “I’ve never seen her for myself,” he admits to
his riveted audience, “but every soul who has seen her says she is the most beautiful
woman they have ever laid eyes on.”

I count myself fortunate to have heard him speak recently at The Shrine of Our Lady
Comforter of the Afflicted in Youngstown, Ohio. In his presentation titled Traps of the
Enemy Now Celebrated in Our Culture Mr. Blai lamented that around the world the
Church has ceased to catechize the faithful in spiritual warfare and observed that
Christians in general seem embarrassed to even bring it up.

Blai has seen first-hand how the rise in practice of wicca, witchcraft, satanism,
necromancy, and new age philosophies and rituals, all forbidden by the Church, have
resulted in the destruction of real lives. “Young adult sections in bookstores are loaded
with books that soften the impressions of the darkness,” he said. He also discussed
television and film, particularly how Hollywood will produce entertainment glamorizing
these forbidden practices, and don’t care how much damage they cause.

The damage is done when we turn to a created spirit to gain what we want, rather than
waiting on the Lord, and in doing so we hand our bodies and possessions over to the
enemy. “We have been given authority over our bodies and our property,” he said, “and
we must keep that authority.” That authority was given to us by God, and His authority
trumps all.

We should also continue to seek protection from Mary. The Lord Jesus shares that
authority with His mother. The powers of hell are no match for her. Mr. Blai discussed
how during difficult cases, the exorcist and his team will be stalled, getting nowhere with
the demon. Someone will simply suggest praying a few decades of the rosary, and the
demon reacts in terror: “not her, anything but her!”

Blai discussed how the evil one and his cohort cannot bear to be in her presence. She
terrifies them, because she is the source of our salvation, the willing vessel of the Word
Incarnate, the woman who, with her Son, would crush the head of the serpent.
“Some of these afflicted souls have never heard of Mary, have no idea what the
Church teaches about her, and even they are overwhelmed by her beauty. They’ll
ask, ‘who was that woman? I have never seen someone so beautiful!’

He continues: “When Our Lady arrives, their expression totally changes. They suddenly
have a look of joy on their face. Many smile. Many cry. She is very powerful. And that
power was given to her by her Son.

“And why wouldn’t He give her everything? It is her blood that flows through His veins.
Jesus had no earthly father. His DNA is her DNA. Everything He is in His humanity is
from her. She was the first person to reflect the face of love to Him.”
He finished with a story he stumbled upon by a seer he did not name. While he stressed
that this seer has not been vetted by the Church, Blai recognizes in this brief story depth
of love between Jesus and His mother:

“Jesus was dying on the cross, and there was she was, right there with him until the
end, but she couldn’t hold him or comfort him. So, she sang to Him a lullaby, just as she
sang to Him when He was a child. That is the heart of a mother.”
Jesus shares everything with His mother, and with great humility, she does everything
He asks. “They are united on a level we just cannot imagine.”
