His Feast Day Is On July 24 By Rosario Lim   Saint Charbel  Yussef Antoun Makhlouf was born in Beqaa-Kafra, Lebanon, on May 8, 1828. At 23 years old, he secretly entered the monastery of Our Lady of Mayfouq, taking the name of a Syrian martyr, Charbel. He put into practice what his spiritual master, Blessed Nemtala El Hardini, said to him: “To be a priest, my son, is to be another Christ. To become there is only one way: that of Calvary! Commit yourself without delay. He will help you.” St. Charbel imitated the sacrificed Christ and made his Mass the center of his existence. His solitude at the hermitage was only disturbed by visitors attracted by his reputation for holiness. They sought him for advice, a promise of prayer, or some miracle.   One morning, in mid-December 1898, he suddenly fell ill and was helped to his cell where paralysis gradually overtook him. St. Charbel died in the Maronite monastery of Annaya on Christmas Eve 1898, repeating the prayer that he could not finish at the altar: “Father of Truth, Your Beloved Son, Who makes an incredible sacrifice for us, accept this offering: He died that I might live. Take this offering! Accept it…” These words summed up a life of seventy years. At the monastery of Annaya, his body emanates liquefied blood, like those of St. Gennaro of Naples, St. Nicholas of Tolentino and St. Pantaleon in Madrid. He was beatified in 1965 and canonized in 1977, the first saint of Lebanon. Prayer to St. Charbel God, infinitely Holy and Glorified in the midst of Your saints, You Who inspired the holy monk and hermit Charbel to live and die in perfect union with Jesus Christ, giving him the strength to renounce the world and make the heroism of his monastic virtues triumph from his hermitage: poverty, obedience, and holiness. By Rosario Lim On October 13, 1884, 33 years before the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, Pope Leo XIII had a terrifying vision of the future of the Church. He heard two voices which seemed to emanate from the tabernacle. One voice was of a kind and gentle nature, while the other voice was guttural and grating. It was satan, boasting to the Lord that he can destroy the Church. The challenge was accepted, and satan was given, along with his minions, 100 years of power. Pope Leo XIII immediately went from the Vatican Chapel to his private office and wrote the “Prayer to Saint Michael,” giving with it the instructions that it be prayed after all Low Masses. This prayer was recited for decades before it was suppressed after Vatican II. However, Pope John Paul II still promoted recitation of the prayer to obtain help in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world. Ephesians 6:12 states: “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.” There are 9 Angelic Choirs of Heaven. Jesus is the head of the heavenly hierarchy. The fallen angels also organized their opposing team of fallen angels from the abyss, with satan as their head. While the Angels of Heaven work for the salvation of souls, the choirs of demons work to generate rejection of God. Each choir of fallen angels does the exact opposite of what the Angels of Heaven do. The 9 choirs are divided into 3 levels of hierarchy. The upper level is made up of the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. The intermediate level is composed of the Dominations, Virtues and Powers. The third level includes the Principalities, Archangels, and Guardian Angels. While the Seraphim spreads the love of God on earth, the demon spreads hatred, such that wars, genocides, and massacres, are the result. The Cherubim spreads the wisdom of God and inspire true spirituality, while the demon spreads false wisdom, false beliefs or false doctrines. Thrones personify justice and divine authority, and the demon inspires iniquity and injustice, thus opposing God’s plan. The Dominations transmit the commandments of God and ensure that God’s Laws are understood and respected. The fallen angel causes depravity by making people believe that evil is good, and good is evil. The depravity of morals is one of the greatest attacks on man. The Virtues give strength and courage to man by making small miracles, while the demon performs false miracles through their minions, generating false visions. They instill pride and vanity in their victims, making them believe that they have a divine mission, or that only they have the truth. The Powers combat demonic attacks and place us correctly in spiritual combat. Their demonic counterparts cause disorder in the souls of their victims, giving them the illusion that everything is allowed and that man should live his life as he sees fit, without following the commandments of God. The Principalities regulate order in creation by directing the Archangels and Guardian Angels, while the demons create disorder by destroying the natural order of things, so that man destroys himself, which is satan’s goal. The Archangels guide and help man to awaken to God by bringing divine messages and instruct men on spiritual warfare. The angels of the abyss spread false messages and are active in divinatory practices and superstitions. The last choir are the Guardian Angels who are in charge of protecting and guiding us, leading us to salvation. Their demonic counterparts provoke spiritual attacks, destroy the shield of faith, promoting intellectual laziness and preventing spiritual awakening. A central meditation in St. Ignatius’ of Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises is the Two Standards, in which retreatants are to imagine two armies on a battlefield, each holding a flag (a “standard”), ready for battle. On one side is the army of Christ with the Angels of Heaven; on the other is the army of the devil and his minions. This is an exciting moment, when the forces of good will battle the forces of evil. I shall always remain by your side to help you.” In 1999, a hidden metal box containing the secret of La Salette was found and, revealed that, “Indeed Rome will fall, and will have and host the seat of the antichrist.” The author proposes that the messages of La Salette, La Fraudais, and Fatima were hidden, because Our Lady reproaches the clergy of not following Her Son, Jesus Christ. By Bella Desouza Francis Garabandal is a tiny village  in the Cantabrian Mountains in Northern Spain where, from June  18, 1961 up to November 13, 1965 , 4  girls had countless apparitions. The girls were Mari Loli 12 yrs old,  Jacinta 12 yrs, Conchita 12 yrs and Mari Cruz 11 yrs Garabandal had a 500 year history of its people gathering in the evening for the daily rosary.  Any wonder why Garabandal was favoured by our Lady.  On June 18th 1961 as they were playing in the evening,  they heard a thunder. Suddenly, there stood before them a dazzling angel (later identified as St. Michael the Archangel).. He said nothing and quickly disappeared. Pale and visibly shaken, the girls ran to the village church and the apparition soon became known. Over the next twelve days the angel appeared to them several more times and then on July 1, he spoke for the first time announcing that on the following day the Blessed Virgin would appear to them as Our Lady of Mount Carmel.   Over the 4 years, Our Lady would appear hundreds of times frequently appearing several times in a single day. Occasionally she carried the infant Jesus in her arms. The four girls talked with the Blessed Virgin with great simplicity about their everyday life,  working in the fields, getting bronzed by the sun. A charming and almost disarming spontaneity marked the apparitions. In her Diary ,Conchita mentions that the angel and Our Lady often smiled and laughed at their childish remarks. She says the Blessed Virgin kissed them often and kissed many objects given to the girls by the villagers, including entangled rosaries which miraculously were disentangled and returned to the rightful owners. On a few occasions when Mary came with the Infant Jesus, She allowed them to take Him in their arms. They also did simple things to amuse and please Him, such as hiding pebbles in their sleeves and in the tresses of their hair. Once, Our Lady took the crown of small golden stars from Her head and permitted the children to hold it in their hands. What is the meaning of this? Perhaps it teaches us the value of childlike simplicity and unquestioning faith. Later, Our Lady gave the girls the two formal messages.   Many of the messages delivered by Our Lady were of a purely private nature. Some were words of enlightenment or comfort directed to people who came to the village with personal problems. Others were statements that revealed the hidden thoughts or actions of visitors, some of whom were doubting priests. The Two Messages Given by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Garabandal, Spain. OCTOBER 18, 1961 You must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, you must lead good lives. The cup is already filling up, and if you do not change, a very great chastisement will come. JUNE 18, 1965 As my message of October 18,  has not been complied with and has not been made known to the world, I am advising you that this is the last one. Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over.  Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist. You should turn the wrath of God away from your selves by your efforts. If you ask His forgiveness with sincere hearts, He will pardon you. 1, your mother, through the intercession of Saint Michael the Arch angel, ask you to amend your lives. You are now receiving the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Pray to Us with sincerity and we will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Think about the passion of  my son, Jesus. Our Lady told the children that they must visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently  and often led them there” Our Lady told Conchita that it was a greater grace to receive Jesus (in Holy Communion) than to see her. In the last apparition on 13th November (note the date is 13th) 1965 Our Lady said:  “Conchita, why do you not visit my Son more often in the tabernacle? He waits for you there day and night.” A brief synopsis on The Warning, Miracle, Sign & Chastisement.       THE WARNING Three great supernatural events were prophesied at Garabandal. The first is a worldwide Warning from God to be  seen and then felt interiorly by everyone on earth. At that moment we will see the wrong we’ve done and the good we failed to do.  The Warning will be sent to correct the conscience of the world and prepare it for the great Miracle The Miracle The Miracle will take place at the grove of the pine trees on a bluff overlooking the village of Garabandal. It will occur on a Thursday evening at 8:30 or between the eighth and the sixteenth of March April or May. By Rosario Lim From Christian tradition and Holy Scriptures, there are nine choirs of angels. As we grow in love for God, we have to bear in mind that the angels provide us with a sense of progress in our understanding of God and His creation. According to Fr. John Horgan, “The hierarchy of angels is meant to help us understand the qualities of God and how we might grow in the ways of holiness.” In other words, the angels help us get closer to God.¸St. Thomas, the Angelic Doctor, says that angels belong to different choirs according to their intelligence and their place in God’s plan. The highest group of angels – the seraphim, the cherubim, and the thrones – contemplate God and are totally concerned with Him. The second level – the dominions, the virtues, and the powers – these heavenly governors assist in the support of many activities related to God’s throne. The third sphere – the princes/principalities, the archangels, and the angels – are best known to us, whose mission is to assist us while we are on earth. They serve as our guides, protectors, and God’s messengers. St. Michael the Archangel once appeared to Antonia d’Astonac, telling her that he wished to be honored by nine salutations corresponding to the nine Choirs of Angels. He promised that, “Whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching the Holy Table, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for the daily recital of these nine salutations, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life, and after death, deliverance from Purgatory for themselves and all their relations.” In times like these, it is a wise decision to pray the Chaplet of St. Michael daily. These are the Angels who constantly sing God’s praise, and whose duty it is to regulate the heavens. (Lucifer is said to have been one of the Seraphim who had outshone all the others untill he became the head of the fallen angels. CHERUBIM – sent to guard the gates of Eden. Originally they were depicted as the bearers of God’s Throne, as the charioteers, and as powerful beings with four wings and four faces. However, in modern times, Cheribum have evolved into chubby babies with wings. THRONES – called the ‘many eyed ones’ have the duty of carrying out God’s decisions. They are often represented as firey wheels. DOMINIONS – their job is to regulate the duties of the other Angels and ensure that God’s wishes are carried out. VIRTUES – the Angels of Grace who bring God’s blessings to Earth, usually in the form of miracles. Known as the ‘brilliant’ or “shinning’” ones, they are associated with acts of heroism and bring courage when needed. POWERS – their job is to prevent the ‘fallen angels’ from taking over the world and keeping the Universe in balance. They are also seen as the Angels of birth and death. PRINCIPALITIES – the Guardian Angels of cities, nations and rulers, and guards against the invasion of evil angels. ARCHANGELS – probably the best known of all Angels. They carry God’s most important messages to humans. They also command God’s ‘armies’ of Angels in the constant battle with the “sons of darkness.” ANGELS – the Celestial Beings closest to humans. SLOTH & IT’S CONNECTION TO DEPRESSION! By Rosario Lim In the medieval Latin tradition of the seven deadly sins, acedia has generally been understood as the sin of sloth. It involves a variety of psychological states, primarily laziness, ennui, or boredom. More recently, it has been connected to depression. It is the “noonday demon” that attacks the believer when the sun is at its highest and the heat unbearably oppressive. It drains a person of energy and life. In the spiritual life, acedia paralyzes the natural functions of the soul, such that prayer life is neglected, ultimately leading to spiritual death and sometimes even suicide. Extreme despair drove Judas Iscariot to hang himself, after betraying Our Lord. St. Peter, on the other hand, wept and repented after denying Our Lord three times. Both men sinned against God, but they had very opposite reactions to their grave offenses. Judas committed another sin by believing that he was absolutely damned and he challenged God’s infinite capacity for forgiveness. St. Peter, after repenting and asking for the Lord’s forgiveness, went on to become the first Pope of the true Church. Ephesians 6:12 states that we wrestle against spiritual forces of evil. This means we are involved in spiritual warfare against demonic agencies that are seeking to destroy us through passions and mental disorders. There are weapons and therapies that may be used against these evil powers and our disordered desires. Start by putting on the Armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6. Persevere in faith and trust that Our Lord will protect His children, as promised in Psalm 91. Be patient with yourself. Keep working and praying. Our Lord has conquered the world, and He will help us defeat acedia.

We would like to share with you a heartbreaking story of parents Daniel and Layla Abdallah from Sydney Australia who lost three of their six children to a tragic accident along with a niece. On the 1st of February 2020 the family was celebrating a birthday when the parents permitted their kids to walk down the street to buy some ice cream.  A 30 year old under the influence of alcohol,  cocaine and other drugs lost control of his car,  drove over the sidewalk at a high speed and hit their children and niece. None of them survived. Despite their  tremendous suffering and pain the abdallah family did not hate the driver who was  sentenced to 21 years in prison.  In a move that shocked the news media, Layla publicly forgave him. She said, if Jesus can forgive me then of course I can forgive the driver. Our Lord on the cross said ‘Father forgive them for they know not what they do’. When the media asked how they can help Layla requested people to come to the site and pray the stations of the Cross and the Rosary.  Incredible Grace poured out as thousands came to the site daily praying even after the funeral was over. Daniel said that despite the unbearable pain and sleepless nights the only path to healing was by forgiveness first to forgive himself for telling his kids to go for the walk and secondly to choose to forgive the offender. Danny says there’s power in forgiveness freedom in forgiveness forgiveness allows you to achieve greatness and leads you to  holiness .  In memory of their kids  the parents have turned this tragedy into a day of forgiveness this day has been endorsed by the Australian government and is now recognized as a national day of forgiveness All praise and glory be  to God, Amen.  Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
